After a long hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the events industry is finally making a comeback, and one of the most highly anticipated events in Portugal is the annual Comic Con. This year, the event took place for the first time at the Altice Arena in Lisbon and Inygon was proud to be a part of it once again.
Inygon has been involved with Comic Con since 2016, originally as one of the most important stages for the LPLOL finals and later as a coordinator for the gaming area. This year, we had the opportunity to assist with the production of the esports stage, which focused on providing small competitions for fans of various game titles, including League of Legends, VALORANT, Teamfight Tactics, Rocket League, Street Fighter V, and more.
The gaming area also featured other experiences, such as the Red Bull Untapped World Final, a Star Wars X-Wing simulator, and some VR experiences with Beat Saber.
Despite the ongoing pandemic, the event organizers took important health and safety measures, including requiring COVID-19 testing for entry. Nevertheless, the event still managed to attract a considerable number of visitors, particularly on Saturday when the movement inside and outside the Altice Arena was most noticeable.
For Inygon and Comic Con Portugal, this event marked a triumphant return to the events scene after a long hiatus. It was a joy to see the energy and enthusiasm of attendees, and we look forward to continuing to participate in and support this fantastic celebration of pop culture in the years to come
